As of August 20, 2026, Aya-network data reported by Becker's showed 8,186 open travel-nursing positions quarter-to-date. The leading states in that snapshot were California (665), Ohio (504), North Carolina (452), Texas (422), Missouri (397). Aya-network openings are a current staffing-demand signal, not a count of renters and not the entire U.S. travel-nursing market.
BLS reports about 3,500,000 RN jobs in 2025 and projects 180,800 openings per year over 2025–2035. State employment data for May 2024 also shows the largest RN workforces in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois. These workforce measures support national discovery but do not measure rental demand directly.
