Editorial & Verification Policy
Max Rental Tools is designed to make rent-increase rules easier to research without hiding where the information came from.
Official sources first
Where available, state and local rule summaries are tied to government agencies, statutes, regulations, courts, housing departments or other primary public sources. Public jurisdiction pages may remain discoverable while a local rule is still under review, but review-required facts are labeled clearly and are not promoted as verified legal limits or used as authoritative calculator inputs.
Visible verification dates
Jurisdiction pages display a last-verified date when an official rule has been reviewed. Rental laws can change, so a verification date is not a guarantee that a rule has not changed afterward. Visitors should review the linked official source before taking legally consequential action.
One rule system, multiple tools
The goal is for the same jurisdiction data to support calculator guidance, state pages, notice timing and related document workflows. This reduces contradictory answers across the site.
Substantive multilingual indexing
Localized pages are intended for U.S. rental audiences and use self-canonicals plus reciprocal hreflang when a real localized route exists. New translated content must add substantive localized value; thin language-only or ethnicity-targeted doorway pages are not part of the expansion strategy.
Public search and AI discovery
Public educational, calculator, jurisdiction, document-discovery and guide pages are open to ordinary search crawlers and supported AI discovery crawlers. Google AI features use the normal Google Search index, so Max Rental Tools relies on standard crawlability, useful text, internal links, canonicals and source-backed content rather than special AI-only markup. Private account, admin, checkout, secure-document and saved-device-draft routes remain excluded from public discovery. The sitemap index is available at /sitemap.xml; /llms.txt is maintained only as an auxiliary guide for systems that choose to use it.
No thin geographic scaling
Max Rental Tools does not create new city, county, campus or audience pages merely by swapping a place name into the same copy. Existing public jurisdiction routes may be indexed with transparent review status, while new expansion is reserved for pages that add distinct legal, official-source, campus, audience or workflow value and fit a browsable site hierarchy.
