Texas does not impose a general statewide percentage cap on ordinary private-market rent increases after a lease term ends, and current Texas State Law Library guidance does not establish one universal standalone rent-increase notice period for every residential tenancy. A landlord generally cannot impose a mid-term rent increase unless the tenant agrees or the lease permits the change. Property Code § 91.001 supplies a termination-notice framework for monthly and month-to-month tenancies, but Max Rental Tools does not convert that termination rule into a universal 30-day rent-increase effective-date rule. Lease renewal terms, tenancy structure, retaliation protections under §§ 92.331–.332, subsidized-housing rules, and any applicable local requirements must be reviewed before serving an increase.
