New Hampshire RSA 540:2, IV requires written notice of the amount and effective date at least 30 days before an increase when a landlord later relies on the tenant's refusal to agree to that proposed rent change as good cause for eviction. That provision is not a universal standalone authorization to rewrite every tenancy or fixed-term lease after 30 days. The lease or other rental contract, tenancy classification, subsidized-housing rules, and anti-retaliation protections must be reviewed. Manufactured-housing parks use a separate framework under RSA 205-A:6, including at least 60 days' written notice for disclosed rent or charge increases and a mediation-notice process.
